Protective Clothing Proper Use Guidelines
When selecting proper Protective Clothing, we recommend you consider the following practices:
- Ensure proper hazard assessments have been performed and documented.
- Ensure all applicable MSDS's (Material Safety Data Sheets) are on site, are accessible, and are current within three years.
- Use industry-recognized guides and charts to aid in the selection of the required protection level and skin barrier material. (Manufacturers’ web sites may prove to be very useful, please contact ISS for assistance)
- Ensure foot protection meets expected work site requirements and work environments.
- Ensure all equipment is comfortable when worn in its intended environment.
- Ensure items fit snugly without compromising movement or dexterity.
- Ensure design is durable enough for the expected work conditions.
- Ensure equipment is easy to clean and disinfect where applicable.
